BuildPalestine was born from a simple yet radical belief: that communities closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions—and they desere access to the resrouces to bring those solutions to life.

In 2016, we launched with a focus on crowdfunding as a liberating fundraising method that reclaims agency for our communities. By mobilizing our global community to directly support social initiatives in Palestine, these campaigns became more than just fundraising efforts—they were collective acts of solidarity, creativity, and trust. Through our platform, dozens of changemakers raised the funds needed to launch or sustain community-centered work across historic Palestine.

From the beginning, we set out to do things differently. While the aid system poured millions into short-term relief, we focused our crowdfunding on bold, community-led solutions—because innovation and sustainability were missing from a sector shaped by decades of dependency. This led us to social enterprises: rooted in community, free from political agendas, and built to last. 

Crowdfunding was our starting point—but it’s only part of the answer. What these changemakers truly need is patient capital that prioritizes impact over quick wins. That’s where Bloom begins.

Bloom is a venture philanthropy fund that will invest in high-impact social enterprises in Palestine. Bloom is our next chapter in reclaiming funding—redirecting resources away from top-down aid models toward a system of locally led, community-rooted investment.

We’re building Bloom on the same foundation that made our early crowdfunding work successful: deep trust in our changemakers, transparency, and a belief in collective action.
