As an organization committed to building a free and vibrant Palestine, the ongoing genocide in Gaza has filled us with anger and grief—and strengthened our resolve to stand by our people.
In response, we launched Nourishing Hope for Gaza, an initiative to identify, support, and amplify trusted grassroots efforts in Gaza through crowdfunding.
How it works:
We vet active crowdfunding campaigns led locally in Gaza. Once approved, we boost them through our network and partners to help raise $5,000–$10,000 per campaign. Once a goal is met, we move to the next. All funds go directly to the campaign organizers.

Deaf Relief Gaza
Founded through a collaboration between Deaf organizers in the US and Gaza, Deaf Relief Gaza is led on the ground in Gaza by Omar, a Deaf community advocate in Gaza.
Before October 7th, Omar worked as a teacher for Deaf students and was raised in signing environments with Deaf friends, teachers, and mentors. Since the start of the genocide, he has stepped up in extraordinary ways to support the Deaf community in Gaza.
Deaf Relief Gaza provides urgent aid to Deaf Palestinians displaced by war. Funds go toward food, hygiene, clothing, hearing aids, and mobility devices.

Past Campaigns
These campaigns have successfully met their crowdfunding goals through BuildPalestine—but the work doesn’t stop there. Each remains an active, impactful initiative that continues to welcome your support.

Child Smile
Founded by Hassan Akhras, Child Smile empowers displaced theatre artists from Gaza—many of whom were trained at the now-destroyed Theatre Day Productions center. Despite the loss and displacement, these artists continue to create safe, imaginative spaces for children to express themselves, process trauma, and reclaim their sense of joy through drama and theatre. This initiative is a powerful reminder of how self-expression becomes a form of resilience, especially for children living through war.
Support Child Smile and help keep creative expression alive in Gaza.

Gaza Education Hub
To support university students in Gaza in completing their studies, Palestinian universities, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, launched a distance education program in June 2024 using the Moodle platform. This enables students to continue their education and connect with teachers online. The Gaza Education Hub is establishing solar-powered learning centers to provide essential internet access, academic support, and a space for students to finish their university studies.

Hakini
Hakini (tell me in Arabic), is an Arabic-language teletherapy platform to increase accessibility to mental health care in the Arab world. Since the genocide began, Hakini took immediate action to provide mental health support to Gazans. With the support of BuildPalestine, a crowdfunding campaign was launched to install a toll-free hotline and provide on-the-ground sessions.
